Over the past two weeks my class has been using the classroom website called Edmodo. The students really seem to love it and they are learning a lot about digital media. This year my goal is to have a class blog, but since I always run out of time I thought I would let the kids be responsible for the postings. I gave the class an assignment on Edmodo to describe one activity that they enjoyed during the week. I told them the best blog posting will make it to the class website. Who better to describe the events that occur in our wonderful classroom than the students. I had a hard time choosing, so here are a few great posts to share about our week:
On Monday morning, at the computer lab, we signed up on Edmodo for the first time. It was super exciting! When we logged on we had to do two tasks; an English Language Arts snapshot and a Math snapshot! We also answered our teachers questions on Edmodo. Immediately, people started posting questions about assignments and tests. I posted my own questions and replies as well. Our first online task was to write a paragraph about digital etiquette which tells you how to behave online. I was especially impressed with the knowledge I gathered about digital footprints. I really enjoyed my amazing and wonderful Monday and I hope you all enjoyed reading about it. Stay tuned for my next blog!.
This week, me and my classmates played Line Tag on Monday for Game Day at P.E. I liked it because P.E. is my favorite time in school. I liked Monday especially because it is Game Day. Game Day is when we play a game for P.E. For all the other days in school (Besides Friday) is only running either two laps around our usual route, or run five laps which is the mile. Line Tag is just like normal tag. However, the people who are running can only run on lines. When they are tagged they have to sit down and it will stop other people from running in that direction. So basically, the people who are tagged are blocks. They can be saved by having a person who is called the "ghost" tag them. Line Tag is special to me because you really get to exercise by running. You can also enjoy special moments with your friends.
This week we got to do something special. We got the chance to boo three classrooms! It was really funny seeing my classmates faces when they just came back from booing them. They were really exhausted and ran out of words. We decided to give them candy too. For one of the classes we gave them Lollipops and the second and third class, we gave them Smarties. I enjoyed this activity because one of my friends in one of the classes got booed from us so they were trying to accuse me for booing them. Of course I lied and said "I didn't boo you."I loved this subject and I want to boo a classroom next time!

Life in the Wonderful World of 5th Grade
This blog is student driven. What you read are experiences from students in room 14. From time to time I will put my two cents in, but for the most part, who else should describe what goes on in 5th grade; a 5th grader of course!
