Explorer Day was full of fun. We got to do a couple activities as well as meeting 4th graders and answering questions that have to do with our explorer. Explorer day is a day where we dress up as our explorers and answer some questions. We would answer questions then switch with another person to answer. My explorer was named Louis Joliet. He was the one who discovered the great Mississippi River! Unfortunately, he died when he was only 55 years old on the Island of Anticosti. Anyways, after we finished answering 3rd and 4th grader's questions, we took a group picture with our costumes on. We also took a selfie with of the whole class! It kinda didn't work out... After that, we did an activity, where we had to be explorers, sponsors,or equipment managers. Mrs. Kopari would choose who is what. I was a sponsor, with another group of people. We would decide which group of explorers or equipment managers, would be the best to at their job. At the end of the day, we watched a movie called Eldorado. It was about 2 companions who are in a search for gold. They later try to find the City of Eldorado, or the city of gold. In conclusion, I think I had the best day in the 5th grade!
Last week the whole 5th grade was doing Explorer Day.We had to dress up as our explorer that we got to research. I was Ferdinand Magellan. All of other 5th grade students had really great costumes. They looked a lot like their explorers. It was fun telling the 3rd and 4th grade about my explorer, they were very curious. After we were done with telling the kids our information on our explorer our legs were so tired. We just got to sit down and took a break till the other classes came. Also we all took a picture with the 5th grade class and after the class picture we all took a selfie with Mrs.Kopari. I had a great time on Explore Day.
